D.C. climate will shift in 2047, researchers say; tropics will feel unprecedented change first

This article discusses how the earth will enter into a new global climate by the year 2047 if we continue "business-as-usual" energy consumption. Though we see more warming by the Earth's pole, the tropics are especially vulnerable because small changes in climate will affect a wide range of species. In regards to human impact, the area around the equator is home to billions of people in poor nations with fewer resources to help them cope with the change.

See EcoHealth's Taking our Temperature section for more information on climate change and its impact on the environment, humans and other species.
